This is such a lovely, clean and child friendly office. Very professional and welcoming.
Five stars is not enough for Poppy Kids. My son has a fear of dentistry and struggles so much in big part due to having sensory sensitivities. Other pediatrics couldn’t get x rays and said our only option was to sedate him. Poppy Kids were so patient and thorough with him. They were able to get the needed x rays. They continue to do their best and help him through each appointment but never push past his limits. They truly want this to be a positive experience. Everyone is so kind and nurturing. I highly recommend Poppy Kids!
Dr. Aduna and her team are amazing! Everyone on the team is warm and professional. Dr. Aduna has a wonderful bedside manner with both children and parents. She really takes her time to explain her thoughts and approach to pediatric dental issues. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care at Poppy Kids!

We loved our first visit to Poppy’s! They are so welcoming and informative. Our daughter had so much fun with all the books and stuffies they have in the exam room. They were very patient with her during the exam, which can be hard for a 19 month old. They prepared us well for what she would do (crying, which she did) and that it’s very normal. We can’t wait to come back!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Andrea and the team at Poppy Kids Pediatric Dentistry. The attention to detail from beginning to end has felt thoughtful, caring, thorough and professional. Whether scheduling an appointment, being in the chair, talking about care plans, dealing with insurance… I and my kids always have felt important, uniquely seen, and professionally cared for — all at once, which I find unique in healthcare and dentistry. I have three kids, and Dr. Andrea approaches each of them uniquely and takes time to understand them holistically. She is up to date on best practices, which, combined with her hands-on experience with kids over the years, really makes you confident you’re getting the best possible care. I’ve been to other pediatric dentists in Marin and San Francisco, and this is the only one I completely trust AND my kids are excited for!! Definitely recommend.

Great first dentist trip for the kiddos! The whole team was warm and friendly. Dr. Andrea never made us feel rushed and was great showing the kids her dentist outfit and all the tools. Why should your child see a board-certified pediatric dentist?

For Dr. Andrea Aduna, that certification reflects deep expertise and a commitment to the latest advances, which is a solid foundation for your child's lifelong oral health.
When is a good time for a child's first dental visit, and what should we expect?
The AAPD recommends an initial oral evaluation by Age 1, or within 6 months of the first tooth. Your child's first visit includes a facility tour, a gentle exam with Dr. Andrea, and time to talk through brushing, flossing, and diet. For children under three, that first appointment is complimentary.
Can a Novato kid get a checkup done around the school day?
Easily. We are at Pacheco Plaza, a few minutes from Rancho, San Ramon, Novato High and San Marin High, with free ground-floor parking right outside. We see patients Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 5:00 and are closed Fridays and weekends, so most families take an early-morning or mid-afternoon slot and have their child back in class or home for dinner.
We just moved to Novato. How do we transfer our child's dental records?
Ask your previous office to send the most recent x-rays and chart notes to info@poppykidsdental.com before your first visit; most offices do this within a day or two. Recent bitewing x-rays often do not need repeating, which is one less thing for your child on day one at Pacheco Plaza. If nothing is available, Dr. Andrea simply starts fresh with a gentle exam and only the low-radiation digital images she actually needs.
Is the Poppy Membership worth it for a Novato family that will be in every six months anyway?
That is exactly who it is designed for. The Poppy Membership is an annual plan that covers two exams, two cleanings, two fluoride treatments and the x-rays that go with preventive visits, plus 15% off any other dental treatment, with no yearly maximum. My child chipped a tooth at Scottsdale Pond. What do we do?
Rinse the mouth with water, save any pieces you can find, and hold a cold compress on the lip or cheek. Then call (415) 408-5775. During office hours, Monday to Thursday, we will tell you exactly what to do next and how soon the tooth needs to be seen; being in Novato, you are only minutes from Pacheco Plaza.
